MARKET CAP CRYPTO - MARKET CAP CRYPTO

MARKET CAP CRYPTO

"marketcap crypto"

in the news marketcap crypto? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader shows a very interesting chart today. while we are invested in crypto, and everyone and their dog is witnessing a huge collapse in price, plus the fact that mainstream are calling crypto dead, they might want to take a closer look, Right now crypto is much higher in terms of market cap than JUNE 2017. This is quite interesting.

The current market cap sits just a touch over $250 billion. That is not bearish, because we have a feeling that by this time next year things could be a lot higher. So its time to knuckle down and do some more research!

This Goose is Cooking - This Goose is Cooking

This Goose is Cooking

"This Goose is Cooking"

in the news This Goose is Cooking? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader have been watching a particular stock.

“Expect the unexpected”  Canada Goose says on its website where it sells $995 parkas.

The stock has recently surged by 28% to hit an all-time high above $59 a share in early morning trading, bringing its total return to 275% in the past year.

 This is quite interesting.

A great chart so one to watch....

Investors do not really realize that a booming economy and stock market are great for companies such as Canada Goose as people who will never cross the Arctic Circle can spend up big on its clothing. That is particularly the case if its customers invested in its shares. They needed to cash in 57 of them last August to buy a parka while it only took 17 on Friday morning.

shareholders of the luxury clothing seller were a bit depressed, and did not expect  a huge surge in its RECENT online sales in the profitable quarter it reported on Friday. Analysts had warned and called for a loss the last few weeks, but that did not turn out to be true with the company raking in huge profits and sales the last few quarters, and chart is a gem.

market wanes higher

market wanes higher

"market wanes higher"

in the news market wanes higher? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader can see that there might be a  'supervolcano' waiting to erupt beneath a seemingly 'beautiful' market.... ==> We have been warning about this HERE in our VIP DIAMOND newsletter <==

A 'herd mentality' has driven up valuations, the portfolio manager warns.

Warning: A correction in the market is "inevitable" and there are three key factors that could spark chaos on Wall Street, according statistics.

We liken this market to Yellowstone National Park's famous supervolcano, which many believe is close to eruption. Stocks continued to hit record highs on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average setting its 8th consecutive all-time high.

Even though [the market] looks beautiful—setting new highs, good momentum, and earnings have been coming in strong, [there are] things to worry about," as there is several pieces of news we much watch in the coming weeks.

Aside from the rise of passive investing, which is creating a "herd mentality" among investors, he also believed that the earnings picture isn't telling the whole story.

"In the 18 months ending in June, we saw companies that had no earnings, they were losing money, outperform those that were making money," We can highlight many stocks' performances this year may not be reflective of their revenues.

But the biggest threat to the market rally, we think is the current valuation levels of stocks.

SENTIMENT TRADER went back to 1994 and researched team data that said [that if we look at cyclically adjusted P/E, one out of two times] the market was down in the next 12 months, and about one out of three times it was down more than 10 percent.

DOW JONES CHART :We have broken a record on dow too. We have not had a red day or sell off for about 2 week now. WOW...This is quite interesting and incredible.

SENTIMENT TRADER notes that when valuations have been this high, 10-year returns on the S&P 500 have been either in the single digits or negative 99 percent of the time.

It doesn't mean that we'll see a volcanic eruption in the immediate future, and these market peaks take a long time, but we're definitely in the latter stages of this market advance, We say we are going to see the inevitable correction, we just do not know when that will be.

Is the bull market looking tired - Is the bull market looking tired

Is the bull market looking tired

"Is the bull market looking tired"

in the news Is the bull market looking tired? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader has readers asking Is the bull market looking tired?

that is a good question we think....

what is really surprising to us especially the market performance of the Korean market, which is one of the best in ASIA at the moment, not only because of it being in Asia but  of the strength of the Huyng, and has been relatively strong verses the US Dollar.

Not many people are looking at the pricing of risk, so with the risk in check, that could mean there could be a headwinds looming and things are not looking as good as they could be leading into the summer time period. We have some powerful charts that monitor that. It would mean there could be downwards reaction, so going into the next few months, we are warning clients to be a bit more on the cautious side.

Here is a chart of the stock market, and yet again, YES, we have yet again broken out to new highs. :-)

Is the Bull market starting to look a bit tired? Really? Well all we can say is we can take a look at the hard data, which has surfaced. That is saying, for a long time valuations have been a bit stretched. What we are talking about is 1 standard deviation above the average 10 year trading average

As you read this post, the markets are pricing in a lot of positives coming out of economic growth, and more trump talks, and trump reforms, honestly we have not seen anything delivered yet. This just means we are rallying on hope of some good news, before the news is out. Sometimes this can lead investors into a false sense of security. But the way we see it right now, is that there really is nothing to panic about.

But please stay in check, that in these sorts of situations there is always room for lots of disappointment. So if there is room for negatives right now, this would be it.

The fed, is fully priced for another rate hike in June. So we will see what happens there. Plus earnings is finished and right at the end, the numbers were pretty good.

The main reason why equity markets have risen so much we have seen positive earnings revision for the first time in many many years. We could chalk up another positive here as well.

In order to have further upside potential, we really need to see more earnings upgrades, and the only way this can happen is to come from better economic conditions. So far the jury is out on that one, I am afraid, but we will wait and see what will happen.

The other area our analysts are looking at is the ECB story. There is an ECB meeting in june, where we will hear from draghi about the potential tapering which could potentially occur in 2018.

Will the trump rally continue?

Will the trump rally continue

"Will the trump rally continue

in the news Will the trump rally continue? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader have been asked do we think the trump rally continue?

Quite an interesting question, and we will try to answer that the best way we know how!!

Our thoughts are that with a few days left in 2016, Retail investors typically pile into stocks in the fourth quarter, but are seasonals really enough to keep this skyrocketing market going?

Since Donald trump won the us elections, it seems lot of investors are jumping on the bandwagon here. But how much will that make a difference to the overall stock market. So far we have seen a move of over 4% in the overall S&P 500 post-election. And there are a lot of things at play here over the coming months.

If we go back over 37 years, we are coming into a time where we see what is termed a Santa clause rally. That just means that historically speaking, this fourth quarter a lot of active traders or retail trader are coming back to the stock market and piling into stocks.

Just recently we have gotten some more positive economic data, trump is urging to making America great again, and we still have the post-election euphoria going on at the moment. So we could see some more gains, into the end of the year, like we typically do. But the market this week, is pausing a bit, after such a historical run, you can see the S&P chart below!

This is quite interesting As the S&P500 has thrown itself into a skinny upwards channel, that we have been watching! The bulls have not only sunk their teeth in they have been utterly relentless. Look at the chart below!.

It is wise to use a bit of caution as the markets run up a bit now since the US Elections was about a month ago! But still, investors seem to be quite bullish so close of the end of year. We were not be so sure.

If the market is set to move higher into the end of the year, where should the investor be looking. Some of the larger investors on wall st have seen the trend of higher markets into the end of year, and some possibilities would not to be looking at the strength, but take a more contrarian approach  to look to some of the sectors that have been beaten down, sectors such as the biotech, or the pharmaceutical sectors and some of the stocks, that are holding well. Stocks like Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer would be an example.

These are some of the multinational companies that pay a very nice dividend. They have solid growth, and their P/E ratios are a lot lower than some of the sectors that have been skyrocketing lately.

If the market is really going to keep rallying into the end of the year. And if we really are in one of those situations of being in a SANTA CLAUSE rally, the stocks that are suppressed are more likely to pick up some steam, and get a second wind as we cruise into the next few weeks!

What is interesting at the moment is that the market has not stopped rallying for the last few weeks. This has not happened for a few years. So we will see where we end up. But one thing is obvious, all the nay Sayers that kept calling for a horrific stock market crash if Donald Trump got in, have not only been proved wrong, they have LOST lots of money in the process. It seems we are now in an environment where people actually are starting to realise Donald Trump will not be so bad for the stock market and economy as a whole when he takes oval office in 2017. Time will tell if he actually follows through on his policies, but we are always of the opinion to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

heating Oil - Heating Oil chart

Heating Oil chart

"Heating Oil chart"

in the news Heating Oil chart? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader has been watching the Heating oil chart for a while and some of the other commodities

While the USA is coming into Winter and its brass monkey season, and people are starting to feel the cold, there is sometimes ways to profit from that. Heating OIL is just one way, and lately on the charts you have seen the run up since the middle of NOV 2016. Right now Heating oil has formed what is called an ASCENDING TRIANGLE, on pole, usually a BULLISH pattern, in terms of futures charts. 80% of the time, they normally bust out to the UPSIDE!!

So this is one chart that takes our fancy!! :-)

Will the stock market continue to rally in 2017

Will the stock market continue to rally in 2017

"Will the stock market continue to rally in 2017"

in the news Will the stock market continue to rally in 2017? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Well there are many people talking up the market, and then there are others who say a catastrophic event is on the way very soon. There is accumulating evidence that the economy is very much strengthening, and if this is the truth, that could be very good for the economy and stocks in 2017.

Although we can have a very optimistic view. We must take into consideration TRUMP will be president next year, and no one is really sure what is in store for us. So there are a few simple warnings for investors.

If the bull market continues for the next few months, and does not take a pause. Then what you have on your hands is a market that is vulnerable. Meaning, the higher we go, the more chance we will have of some type of serious correction.  If we get higher interest rates, and we have a strong US dollar as well that would be something many investors will be afraid of, so we have to be careful here, to think the market will go skywards every week without some type of pause.

Let’s be honest, since Donald trump Got in, the market shot up fast, and may be getting a little ahead of itself.  Think of a helium balloon, once the balloon is fresh with helium it will go up and up, but there will be a point as which the balloon will start to lose its strength, and then deflate and stop ascending.

The equities in the US have been going higher since Donald Trump’s surprising victory. Some have been referring to this as the TRUMP RALLY, or the DONALD TRUMP rally. Maybe this is a coincidence because people are sick of the lies from the democrats and want change. Maybe Donald Trump getting in, could mean a cleansing out for the economy and stock market and that could be a good thing. Time will tell.

You can now see that the S&P has broken the very solid resistance at 2175 and we have exploded UP very very violently.

What we have to remember is this current bull market could continue, and the reason is due to lower tax rates and a business environment that is much friendly, once Trump is actually in the white house office.

Smart money is already starting to shift to consumer staples and discretionary plays, as well as technology. It seems Donald trump is going to support these areas, and there could be huge growth potential in the next 4 years.  That would be an area some of the smart investors are looking right now as we head towards 2017.

With better economic growth and tax reforms that would mean small- and mid-cap stocks will benefit quite extensively, but if the US dollar was to keep rallying, that would only hurt larger multinationals.

Russell 2000 Winning Streak Longest in 20 Years

Russell 2000 Winning Streak Longest in 20 Years

"Russell 2000 Winning Streak Longest in 20 Years"

in the news Russell 2000 Winning Streak Longest in 20 Years? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Well this week was quite interesting on the stock market, the Russell 2000′s Winning Streak Longest in 20 Years

Investors are betting that President-elect Donald Trump will relax regulations, lower taxes and pump money into infrastructure projects

Perhaps nowhere else in financial markets is speculation on the ultimate success of Trompononics more rampant than in shares of small U.S. stocks.

Small company shares on Friday notch their longest winning streak in 20 years on a shortened Black Friday trading session. The Russell 2000 Index rose 0.4% in in the shortened session to book its 15th advance in row. This streak ties a run last seen in February 1996. The longest ever streak, 21, was hit back in 1988.

Big-cap stock benchmarks also booked all-time highs on Friday, as the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average each rose 0.4%. Since the election, however, small caps are the clear winners.

So far, the Russell 2000 has climbed 12.7% since Election Day, compared with an advance of 3.5% for the S&P 500

Investors are betting that President-elect Donald Trump will relax regulations, lower taxes and pump money into infrastructure projects. Such policies should benefit small caps more than there larger brethren. For one thing, U.S.-based companies are best positioned to benefit from improving domestic growth that results from stimulus spending. Financial and energy companies, which carry significant heft in small-cap benchmarks, are likely to get a lift from dergulation, analysts say. What’s more, small-cap stocks tend to have the highest effective tax rates, since larger multi-national companies can defer U.S. taxes on profits earned overseas.

And. smaller companies also look well positioned should the anti-trade rhetoric voiced during the Presidential campaign season materialize in real policies, a headwind for multi-national companies that do big business abroad.

The price-to-earnings ratio of the Russell 2000 has jumped to 20.3 based on earnings over the past 12 months compared with 17.8 just before Election Day, according to FactSet. The current reading is near the highest recorded over the past 20 years.

For the S&P 500, the trailing price-to-earnings is up to 18.3 from 17.5 at the end of last month.

History suggests that long streaks of gains tend to keep going. We will see about that. On the heels of the 1996 streak of gains, the Russell 2000 was 2.2% higher after the first month and 8.4% higher over the next three months

ECB warns that risks of global market corrections have intensified

ECB warns that risks of global market corrections have intensified

"ECB warns that risks of global market corrections have intensified"

in the news the ECB warns that risks of global market corrections have intensified? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

The increasing political uncertainty across advanced economies is risking the stability of the euro zone, the region's central bank warned in a new biannual report on Thursday.

The uncertainty surrounding upcoming key referendums and elections across the 19-member euro zone bloc, along with expected policy changes in the U.S. raise inflation and growth challenges for euro area countries, the European Central Bank (ECB) said. Such uncertainty could lead to a global asset market corrections, it stated.

"The financial stability implications for the euro area stemming from changes in U.S. economic policies are highly uncertain at this point in time," the bank said.

"The euro area economy may be directly impacted via trade channels and by possible spillover effects from higher interest and inflation rate expectations in the U.S.," it added, hinting at the election win for Donald Trump and increased market expectations regarding his investment expenditure.

"Market movements after the U.S. election indicate a rotation from bonds to equities. Bond valuations declined by 1 trillion euros ($1.06 trillion) worldwide in the first week after the election, with European markets also being affected, albeit to a smaller degree than U.S. markets. It is uncertain whether these developments will set a trend for the future."

However, it added that European banks are also a current risk to the bloc's financial stability. Profitability is set to remain low given the moribund economic recovery and the high-level of non-performing loans remains to be addressed, it added.

"Risks extend also to the real economy. In particular, concerns about debt sustainability might re-emerge despite relatively benign financial market conditions," the ECB also warned.

Wall Street Week Ahead: Sleepy summer may give way to freaky fall

Investors watching A Slow Slothy Market
Investors watching A Slow Slothy Market

Wall Street Week Ahead: Sleepy summer may give way to freaky fall

Wall Street Week Ahead: Sleepy summer may give way to freaky fall... Is this true?

The dog days of summer have lived up to their sleepy reputation this year as far as U.S. stocks are concerned, but market gyrations could soon pick up as a traditionally more volatile time of year looms.

The S&P 500 index's 1-month realized volatility, a measure of market choppiness over the past 30 days, is stuck near all-time lows, according to Thomson Reuters data. Even the early-summer jolt from the surprise Brexit vote proved short-lived, and the S&P has not seen a 1-percent price move, up or down, on any day since early July.

Yet all that could change quickly given the abundance of catalysts that can rattle markets in the weeks ahead, market watchers said.

"If you look at September on average, it's a bad month," said Brad McMillan, Chief Investment Officer for Commonwealth Financial Network.

September ranks as the worst month for stocks, according to the Stock Traders Almanac, producing an average price return for the S&P 500 of negative 0.5 percent. Its reputation has grown more ominous since the financial crisis, because it was the month when Lehman Brothers went under in 2008, nearly taking the U.S. financial system down with it.

"There is a real good chance that the low volatility that we have seen in August hasn't just disappeared, it's just been storing up for September," he said.

While the holiday-shortened week itself is light on U.S. economic data, there is no dearth of trigger events in the near-term that could rile markets.

The possibility of a U.S. interest rate hike at the Federal Open Market Committee's September meeting, stretched stock market valuations, volatile oil prices, the fallout from Britain's decision to exit the European Union, and political risks linked to the U.S. presidential election are just some of the factors that could upset the volatility cart, analysts said.

"August, September and October, this is the wrong time of the year historically to get really aggressive, particularly given all these uncertainties on the horizon," said Phil Orlando, chief equity market strategist at Federated Investors in New York.

"If two or three of these go wrong … given stretched valuation levels, we could very easily see a little bit of a pullback."

Stock market valuations are stretched – the forward price-to-earnings ratio of the S&P is currently above 17, compared with its long-term average of about 15 - leaving the market susceptible to a negative shock.

The Fed's policy meeting on September 20-21 is by far the biggest near-term risk to stock market calm as investors continue to struggle to determine the path of interest rate hikes by the central bank.

While U.S. employment growth slowed more than expected in August, hurting the case for a interest rate hike this month, the data is not weak enough to push a September rate hike completely off the table. "Any bad news could be an excuse to reduce positions and take a little bit of money off the table," Mark Watkins, regional investment strategist at the Private Client Reserve at U.S. Bank, said.

Investors will be dealing with a relatively light week on the economic front, with reports on the services sector likely to be the highlight.

The U.S. Presidential election is another factor that could stir up volatility as Election Day nears.

Looking at the chart, there are investors on blogs and forums all around the internet, who are hating this market. Its like a slow sloth bathing in the sun. Basically from our stand point, we have been in an annoying range, and the professionals have not been very active at all. A 30 point range on the market is not really going to help anyone really. But we are fast approaching months, that are well known to be fast, volatile and whippy. i.e. SEPT - NOV. Time will tell, and we will have to wait and see what we get. However we have seen periods of sideways before, which often lead to bigger faster moves, and you will have to be ready when that occur. Stand at the ready!!!

"Wall Street starts taking the elections seriously on Tuesday," said JJ Kinahan, chief market strategist at TD Ameritrade in Chicago.

"For the press, they've been great fodder for the fact that TV has to report twenty-four hours a day. But in general, Wall Street hasn’t taken it seriously yet, so we all get down to business next week.

The first presidential debate on Sept. 26 could help shed light on both candidates' policies.

"With everyone on one side of the boat, pricing a Hillary presidency, if suddenly something should happen such that people think that maybe Trump has a chance, that certainly increases volatility," Orlando said.

That could be one of those things that triggers near-term a hiccup in the markets.  -    Source : Cnbc.

Become a Better Trader - Become a Better Trader In 3 Steps

Become a Better Trader –  Become a Better Trader in 3 Steps

While getting into the world of trading is easy, becoming a successful trader is not. The reality is, most people who set out on this path fail miserably. This is because very few understand the hard work and discipline that is required to succeed in the markets. If you are serious about becoming a good trader, here are 3 rules you should follow:

Rule #1 – Become A Student Of The Markets

Constantly educating yourself on how the markets work is a key step in becoming a good trader. The best traders are students first. They understand the importance of knowledge. The market is an extremely dynamic and volatile environment. Things can change from one second to the next. The more you understand about the past and current markets, the better off you will be when its time to make a trade.

Everyday you should take time to research and study the markets. Doing so will give you a significant competitive advantage.

Rule #2 – Always Follow A Trading Plan

A trading plan is basically a set of rules you will follow when making trades. Your trading plan should clearly state your entry, exit and money management guidelines. Though writing out a trading plan can be very time consuming, it is by far one of the most important things you can ever do. Especially if you are serious about becoming a better trader.

Thanks to today's technology, you can quickly and easily test your trading plan without risking any money. Once you have tested your plan and it shows good results, then and only then should you use it in real trading.

Rule #3 – Approach Trading As A Real Business

You will never become a good trader if you treat it like a hobby. Hobbies are for fun. When you treat something as a hobby there is no real commitment. Its something you only do when you feel like doing it.

Trading on the other hand is something that requires a real commitment. When you trade you incur expenses just like you would if you were running a business. You will have to pay taxes, you will lose money, and you will be forced to deal with a lot of uncertainty.

That's why it is vital you approach it with a business mindset. You must be willing to do research and come up with strategies to maximize your earning potential.

And there you have it, 3 rules for successful trading. Follow these 3 rules and you will increase your odds of becoming a great trader.
