vix chart update - vix chart

vix chart update - vix chart

vix chart update - vix chart

what the vix chart update - vix chart? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader told   ==> our VIP MEMBERS here <==  The S&P 500 Index could end the year higher, but it's going to take the winding road to get there, that would be the best way to explain in. Lets today look at the VIX chart.

Volatility returned to the market in recent weeks after abnormally low levels through last year. This should continue in the coming months.

"The volatility that we saw was elevated, We don't think we're going to stay at that high a level, but there is a bid to volatility at this point in time, so we need to get use to that in 2018.

The Volatility index (VIX) surged more than 100 percent on Feb. 5, its biggest one-day move ever, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average made a 1,175 point drop, its biggest point drop. And since the beginning of February, the Dow has moved within a nearly 3,000-point range and the S&P 500 a 300-point range.

Since then, the Dow has fallen 3.5 percent and the S&P 500 1.7 percent. Harvey sees more volatile moves ahead.

"Now the question is, where is that natural level? Is it at 12 on the VIX? Is it at 14?"  SENTIMENT TRADER think it's at mid-teens… As we look forward we think we'll see a lot more spikes this year than we did last year."

When you look at the vix chart we have gone from nothing to a bit spike over 30 so volatility is back in a big way so the market will see big ups and downs this year, last time this happened.

Watch the VIX chart in 2018 -- See the chart below....

Our Members here => VIP members here    were told Those kinds of levels are par for the course in a normal year. But the return to normality has been a shock to the system for investors accustomed to 2017 levels when volatility was low and the waters were calm.

The VIX hit an all-time low in November, and dropped more than 21 percent in 2017. The S&P 500 moved by at least 1 percent just 8 trading days for the full year.

With volatility returning, there are a few key levels to watch.

one level to watch is  2,700 is an important level, We've held that level pretty well, and the benchmark to close the year above those records, he added.

As volatility returns to the market, we will watch one sector Utilities.

They've under-performed by about 20 percent over the last five or six months, With the higher level of volatility bid, we think there's going to be a bid for risk-aversion longer term so that's an nice theme for us going forward.

vix fear index chart - how to trade vix

vix fear index chart - how to trade vix

"vix fear index chart - how to trade vix"

in the news vix fear index chart - how to trade vix? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader has been providing data to our VIP members here, which is quite interesting. Probably one of the most interesting things we have seen this year.

(Investing  and saying LETS BET long on the VIX is a "quick way to lose money)

Betting against stock market volatility is one of the hottest trades in the market. But it has not been working out too well as of late.....

It's also one of the most controversial, with many pundits viewing it as increasingly vulnerable to a market blowup.

Sentiment trader — who has nailed the eight-year bull market at every turn — has decided its the best to be staying out of the fray completely. Having experienced considerable success simply trading on the benchmark S&P 500 index and evaluating stocks on an individual basis, hopping in to the VIX here and expecting an explosion higher, might be an exercise in 2017 deemed as pointless.

Our top analysts think our view on CBOE Volatility Index — or VIX — while also covering such hot-button market topics as equity valuations, exchange-traded funds, the effect of politics on the market, and what important factor he thinks investors are missing.

What we have note is a strange repeating pattern on the charts. everytime we go to 16 or 17 on the chart, the VIX just stalls and then DROPS like a rock!! Have a look at the chart we have drawn below. A strange phenomenon we call, "Twisted Fate"

One our our [ VIP clients here ] asked about low volatility and why the trade is not working....we replied:

"Like so many things, that is a characteristic of a market. When people say to me that the market hasn't had a 1% run in a certain number of days, that tells me just that. It doesn't tell me anything about tomorrow or what's going to happen. No one really knows what is going to happen tomorrow or in the days ahead!!!

The VIX in 2017 really isn't the fear index — it's a measure of potential volatility in either direction. Yet for some reason, people have put on the ideology that if the VIX spikes, the market's going to go down.

No,.... that is not always the case....when the VIX spikes, it means the market could go either up or down a lot. If you go back to the bottom in 2009, the VIX was telling you that there were going to be another two years of a bear market. It tells you about volatility, not direction. We like to think of this as just another vehicle. It's totally meaningless with regard to the future of the market or telling you what is about to happen. Its been like that for the last 10 years

In an uninteresting market, people have found that this is something you can play. It seems like VIX ETFs and [exchange-traded notes] are a quick way to lose money. And the last few months people are losing lots of money scratching their heads, without realize what we are talking about here is a very detailed subject, and needs to be talked about.

stock market volatility index - vxx chart

stock market volatility index - vxx chart

"stock market volatility index - vxx chart"

in the news stock market volatility index - vxx chart? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader is looking at the VIX chart and noticed some very interesting things.

We feel the market right now seems complacent but stable. We even hit new highs today.....so Let us elaborate what we are talking about, we have probably had a very good start to the year. Over the last few weeks the market has topped out a little bit, but consolidating / in a sideways pattern.

Generally the markets are looking ok, but nothing has really crashed and burned, or fallen apart. So what we do want to take a look at is the VIX chart as you can see below.... Are things about to crash and burn and fall through the trap door like some out there are saying???

Well, sure that is always a possibility. But if you look at the volatility index you can see it is extremely low right now signalling to investors are a little bit complacent but at the same time the level of the overall risk or a catalyst to cause problems is missing at the moment. So its hard to determine what is going to derail the markets in the midterm!!

You can see that VIX is trying to break new lows at the moment, and is very very low. Right back down at the all time lows of support. We think this is very significant given the market has been volatile the last 12 months.....

The vix has been highly talked about subject this year. If you go back before the 2008 stock market crisis you can see periods of steady growth and supported monetary policy always generated low volatility so in the broader historical context we do not think the vix here is unnaturally low. It just seems low considering where we have been coming from and when you zoom back 10 or 11 years!

Due to the high markets, we do not need to be super exotic here we think there will be opportunities in the broader equity markets and equity spaces, we talked about => to our members [HERE] <= As long as you are selective. Its not a time to play pin the tail on the donkey with stocks here. That might not end up very good.
Whether you are looking at developed markets such as EUROPE or USA or JAPAN we do see opportunities across the board, and that is not just at the market level, but at the sector level as well. We have posted about this earlier in the year. We could still see markets run up from here, but overall we still do remain more on the cautious side.

What Weak Volatility Means For Markets - What Weak Volatility Means For Markets

What Weak Volatility Means For Markets

"What Weak Volatility Means For Markets"

in the news What Weak Volatility Means For Markets? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader wonders what does the Weak Volatility mean or say about the market. The current low volatility is the lowest we have seen in the most period of extended time... study the chart below....this has many people talking!! Also our clients. This is quite interesting.

This is making some invesors nervous but from the peaks low volatility is actually GOOD for the stock market. From the most recent 52 week high, to the current low.

So what does this all mean, really?? That is what the bigger traders on wall st are talking about. Its not doubt that we are currently in a bull market, but is lack of a pullback in the stock market actually UNHEALTHY?

Well, that could be the case, and the over the last 20 day ranges, the average pullback in the stock market right now with historically LOW vix is half of 1% and that is the lowest we have seen since 1993.

The funny thing is, lots of retail traders out there are saying, that this just has to expand, and there for this sort of situation, including the low vix MUST BE BEARISH!?

But what you find time and time again, significant to market tops, is that the intraday trading ranges will EXPAND first as the market is still going up!!

So very narrow daily trading ranges, and very low drawn downs that we are seeing at the moment, is not actually characteristic of a MAJOR STOCK MARKET top!... Its more characteristic of a strong healthy up trends.

You saw this situation in the mid 1990's and then as you got into the last 1990's and towards the end of the bull market that is when you saw the ranges start to expand. The same thing occurred in 2004 and 2005 and then they did not really start to expand till 2007, just before the stock market CRASHED horrifically.

Most investors will be quick to say LOW volatility means a stock market crash is coming....That could be the case but as market analysts, but what we are trying to point out is that if there was a real big sell off coming, you might be seeing a warning sign by the market, and very big large daily trading ranges first.

So far as we watch the market each day, we do not see many of those signs showing up on our screens.

With the max drawdown we saw earlier this year of only 3% we could see something more like a 5% or 6% correction later in the year. That is very possible as the market is very overbought at these levels.

If history is anything to go by, you do not normally see big larger sell offs, and or crashes if you are in a solid uptrend and at the same time experience narrow daily ranges at the same time. For that to happen you would need to see larger volatile swings for weeks before that type of even was to occur.

vix chart ?

vix chart

Vix chart

Well its all about the VIX chart right now

Lets go ahead and take a look at the VIX on the weekly timeframe.

The VIX on the weekly has basically bounced yet again off the 11 level. That seems to be a real solid floor if you ever trade or watch the VIX. We have had CHINA issues, BREXIT, RATE HIKE rumors, and now earnings, so its probably safe to say the VIX might find more support here, and some more buying.

I cover more and more technical analysis ==> HERE in our VIP members section.

Vix Chart Update

Vix Chart Update

Vix Chart Update below.

The Vix chart as you can see is pretty much on a BUY signal right now. This would mean its a negative situation for the market, and VERY BULLISH for the VIX.

As we have been saying recently, its all about the VIX right now, and that call seems to be spot on the money. If you zoom back to a weekly chart on VIX, it has been perfectly trading in a range. Right now we are in the middle of that range, and it looks like the top of that range might be met again. i.e. About the 20-21 level.

Vix Chart Update

Many traders are missing the signals, but the next few months, it would be wise to watch the VIX, we still think this is a leading indicator and that is why we bought up this chart to look at today.

vix chart - vix index chart

vix chart - vix index chart

As you can see below the vix index chart is back up at its resistance and we warned that this is at a make or break area. Higher on the vix means that the market will face more trouble in the the short term. If the roof has been  put on the vix and we see more selling off, then money will start to flood back into emerging and also US indicies and equities.

Vix Holding Pattern

The Vix right now seems to be in a holding pattern right now, you can see on the charts we are just trading in between the support and resistance lines drawn.

We are at 13 and holding and we think it is possible to see the higher teens coming i.e. 14 and higher. If this was to occur it would put a lot of pressure back on the market. Its all about the VIX right now, so this is a must watch for traders.

Vix Update - Vix Chart

It simple analysis here, the VIX simply melted back down near the recent lows and is having a hard time still. All eyes are watching wedneday to the FOMC meeting.

This VIX is still being suppressed, and just cant catch a bid at the moment! We feel that the VIX is going to find it a really hard battle to break the 15 - 16 area. Its all about the VIX right now, and now the shut down and debt crisis is over until at least next year the VIX is very telling.

Market update october

Market update October

There is no doubt the GOVT shutdown is having some sort of affect on the market, but it is more directly related to the debt ceiling agreement that is coming up in the next few weeks. We shall see what sort of BS the congress has in store for us then. I always get a good laugh out of their lies, BS and propaganda. Thank goodness that in the VIP MEMBERS AREA HERE  we only  concentrate on all the charts that do matter. It has been a good week for our  VIP MEMBERS  HERE

Onto the charts.....

With all this downdraft on the markets, you can see that the S&P is in a downwards channel. Things are still favoring the bears, and below 1700 should be bearish, and above this level should be bullish in my eye. We shall see what happens next!

spx daily chart
spx daily chart

We have been watching the VIX very closely, as a few days ago, we did warn it was staring to look particularly strong! Just look at all the events moving the vix at the moment, pointed out in the chart below. Today we broke 18 on the VIX as you can see, but by the close of the market the sellers came right back. Breaking 18 today, is significant, and does mean two very important things.....

1) Traders are looking for a flight to safety and insuring their bets on the market.

2) There is a good chance we see higher prices on the VIX soon.

If these things are true, it will only put more pressure on the stock market and indices.

VIX Daily Chart - VIX Daily Chart Warning

VIX Daily Chart - VIX Daily Chart Warning

The Vix daily chart has been quite violent and turbulent in recent times. There is no doubt that the china news and taper delays and now the possible government shutdown and looming debt crisis is playing havoc with these markets. Its quite a tougeful right there, LOL, however you can see that the VIX popped up to nearly 16 last friday, and it means that some investors are looking for safety.

We are now above the 10 MA and 50 MA and there is a real possibility we could go up and touch 17 or even higher.

The vix seems to be holding its pattern for now, below 12 is bearish, above 14 is bullish. Its seems we are coiling before the next move higher or lower right now, so this will resolve very soon.

stock market volatility index - Vix Weekly chart

stock market volatility index - Vix Weekly chart

The stock market volatility index & Vix Weekly chart is showing us something very important.

The stock market volatility index & Vix Weekly chart has been in a downdraft since the end of 2012, that is what is keeping the market so buoyant  Right now we are about 12.5 on the VIX weekly chart, and almost down at support again.

The thing about the recent support is that the VIX is having a hard time getting through these levels, so it is something we much watch. If we bust through these lower levels the Market will likely skyrocket. However if we go and touch these lower support levels and then bounce we will likely see some sort of a sell off, so VIX will be a good chart to keep a close eye on.

The vix a tell tail sign

The VIX went down to the 14 mark in the last few days. I have not seen a drop that quickly on VIX in a long time. From 23 down to under 14 in just a few days.

This can be a warning sign, and needs to be monitored in the coming days.

Vix Chart & Tops

Taking a look at the daily VIX chart or the inverse to the SPX chart, we can see we are not at a top yet. The confirmation or warning sign will be more when we are down at the 14 region.

So far we are a long ways from that, and it will probably give more strength to any rally we see in the next month. For now, nothing has changed it is still buy the dip scenario.

vix chart

vix chart below on the weekly chart is suggesting a very nice descending triangle pattern.

if we break the 11 or 12 region on this vix chart we could be off to the races on the SPX and stockmarket. We are not there yet, but we are getting close. The buyers are slowly getting weeded out by the sellers as you can see, and this is BULLISH for the market in the coming weeks.

vix chart
vix chart

The vix chart is the inverse to the indicies such as the nasdaq chart (below) which shows the bulls are grinning and winning at the moment. Since the middle of November we have only had one red day! WOW!

nasdaq chart

Yes we are due for some sort of pullback, but while others out there are getting very bearish or calling for a market crash, the overall sentiment is not suggesting a bearish tone for the market at all right now!.

Vix Chart And Other Musings

vix chart and other musings

Lots happening and good stories in the VIP SECTION  We are having a ball, literally, and making good money as well.

Today we noticed something very interesting with the VIX chart. The action is outside the bollinger bands, and that has not happened for a while. Each time this did happen, the action soon came back down inside. So this could mean a nice significant rally is just around the corner. Historically I like the chances, but we shall see.

Today was a tricky day on the S&P. The daily chart right now is still suppressed. However the low 1400's are going to be crucial. We could also be setting a bullish falling wedge, or it could be developing which sort of confirms the weird action in vix.
