what the vix chart update - vix chart? What this all about..... See below.

Sentiment Trader told   ==> our VIP MEMBERS here <==  The S&P 500 Index could end the year higher, but it's going to take the winding road to get there, that would be the best way to explain in. Lets today look at the VIX chart.

Volatility returned to the market in recent weeks after abnormally low levels through last year. This should continue in the coming months.

"The volatility that we saw was elevated, We don't think we're going to stay at that high a level, but there is a bid to volatility at this point in time, so we need to get use to that in 2018.

The Volatility index (VIX) surged more than 100 percent on Feb. 5, its biggest one-day move ever, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average made a 1,175 point drop, its biggest point drop. And since the beginning of February, the Dow has moved within a nearly 3,000-point range and the S&P 500 a 300-point range.

Since then, the Dow has fallen 3.5 percent and the S&P 500 1.7 percent. Harvey sees more volatile moves ahead.

"Now the question is, where is that natural level? Is it at 12 on the VIX? Is it at 14?"  SENTIMENT TRADER think it's at mid-teens… As we look forward we think we'll see a lot more spikes this year than we did last year."

When you look at the vix chart we have gone from nothing to a bit spike over 30 so volatility is back in a big way so the market will see big ups and downs this year, last time this happened.

Watch the VIX chart in 2018 -- See the chart below....

Our Members here => VIP members here    were told Those kinds of levels are par for the course in a normal year. But the return to normality has been a shock to the system for investors accustomed to 2017 levels when volatility was low and the waters were calm.

The VIX hit an all-time low in November, and dropped more than 21 percent in 2017. The S&P 500 moved by at least 1 percent just 8 trading days for the full year.

With volatility returning, there are a few key levels to watch.

one level to watch is  2,700 is an important level, We've held that level pretty well, and the benchmark to close the year above those records, he added.

As volatility returns to the market, we will watch one sector Utilities.

They've under-performed by about 20 percent over the last five or six months, With the higher level of volatility bid, we think there's going to be a bid for risk-aversion longer term so that's an nice theme for us going forward.

"vix fear index chart - how to trade vix"

in the news vix fear index chart - how to trade vix? What this all about..... See below.

------------------------------

Sentiment Trader has been providing data to our VIP members here, which is quite interesting. Probably one of the most interesting things we have seen this year.

(Investing  and saying LETS BET long on the VIX is a "quick way to lose money)

Betting against stock market volatility is one of the hottest trades in the market. But it has not been working out too well as of late.....

It's also one of the most controversial, with many pundits viewing it as increasingly vulnerable to a market blowup.

Sentiment trader — who has nailed the eight-year bull market at every turn — has decided its the best to be staying out of the fray completely. Having experienced considerable success simply trading on the benchmark S&P 500 index and evaluating stocks on an individual basis, hopping in to the VIX here and expecting an explosion higher, might be an exercise in 2017 deemed as pointless.

Our top analysts think our view on CBOE Volatility Index — or VIX — while also covering such hot-button market topics as equity valuations, exchange-traded funds, the effect of politics on the market, and what important factor he thinks investors are missing.

What we have note is a strange repeating pattern on the charts. everytime we go to 16 or 17 on the chart, the VIX just stalls and then DROPS like a rock!! Have a look at the chart we have drawn below. A strange phenomenon we call, "Twisted Fate"

One our our [ VIP clients here ] asked about low volatility and why the trade is not working....we replied:

"Like so many things, that is a characteristic of a market. When people say to me that the market hasn't had a 1% run in a certain number of days, that tells me just that. It doesn't tell me anything about tomorrow or what's going to happen. No one really knows what is going to happen tomorrow or in the days ahead!!!

The VIX in 2017 really isn't the fear index — it's a measure of potential volatility in either direction. Yet for some reason, people have put on the ideology that if the VIX spikes, the market's going to go down.

No,.... that is not always the case....when the VIX spikes, it means the market could go either up or down a lot. If you go back to the bottom in 2009, the VIX was telling you that there were going to be another two years of a bear market. It tells you about volatility, not direction. We like to think of this as just another vehicle. It's totally meaningless with regard to the future of the market or telling you what is about to happen. Its been like that for the last 10 years

In an uninteresting market, people have found that this is something you can play. It seems like VIX ETFs and [exchange-traded notes] are a quick way to lose money. And the last few months people are losing lots of money scratching their heads, without realize what we are talking about here is a very detailed subject, and needs to be talked about.

vix update

vix update

The precursor to the main event this week is the FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) minutes on Wednesday, then all eyes on the payrolls number, it seems the market is still scared of the word taper, but the more it gets used, the more traders are getting use to the fact it is coming to the market anyway. So that is sort of how you body builds up immunity to bugs when they attack your body.

It has not been the best start to 2014 however, that does not mean much as most the bigger traders are getting back to their desks this week so better volume should be coming.

The VIX still is floating around the 13's but does have room to move to the 16 level if traders do not like the biggest sets of news coming this week.

Vix Update - Vix Chart

It simple analysis here, the VIX simply melted back down near the recent lows and is having a hard time still. All eyes are watching wedneday to the FOMC meeting.

This VIX is still being suppressed, and just cant catch a bid at the moment! We feel that the VIX is going to find it a really hard battle to break the 15 - 16 area. Its all about the VIX right now, and now the shut down and debt crisis is over until at least next year the VIX is very telling.
